Department Responsibilities:

The office of the Town Clerk is responsible for recording, indexing, and preserving Killingly’s valuable permanent records. It is also responsible for all elections and referendums governed by the Secretary of State. Other responsibilities of the Town Clerk’s Office include: land record information; birth, marriage & death certificates; fishing, hunting & trapping licenses; dog licenses; notary services; meeting notices, agendas & minutes; map subdivision, boundary & easements; voter registration; absentee ballot requests; genealogy information; trade names; and filing of military discharges.

With Fraud Alert, you can sign up to receive alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under your name. Documents can be viewed online or at https://searchiqs.com/ or at the Clerk’s Office. This is a vendor-sponsored service and all questions regarding this function should be directed to IQS at 1-800-320-2617.
