When is the mill rate set and when are taxes due?

The mill rate is set at the end of the budget process or during May of each year. Individual tax bills are then calculated and become due July 1st of each year. Real and personal property taxes that amount to less than $100 are due in full during the month of July, while real and personal property taxes over $100 are due and payable quarterly. The first payment is due July 1st with subsequent payments due October 1st, January 1st, and April 1st. Interest on late payments is 18% annual, calculated from the due date.

All motor vehicle taxes are due in full in July, while supplemental motor vehicle taxes are due in January. Sewer Assessments are due in full in June. Residential Sewer Use charges are due in two installments, July and January. Metered accounts are due in two installments, September and March.
