As a result, all of our Planning & Development Office applications have been added to the list of items located on the left side of our home page.  We are accepting applications by fax (860-779-5381), email or mail.  Payment is accepted by check and by mail only (please make your check payable to "Town of Killingly").  Your application will be processed only after we have received your payment.

This Office consists of the Planning & Development Office and the Building and Safety Inspection Office.

Department Responsibilities

Provide guidance to applicants for land use permits; enforce zoning and wetlands regulations and Town ordinances; participate as a team member in municipal projects; serve as staff to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Inland Wetlands, Planning & Zoning, Conservation Commission, Open Space Land Acquisition, and Agriculture Commission (Community Garden and Tomato Festival); and provide technical assistance to the Town Council and other agencies as requested. The Planning & Development Office staff also provides GIS mapping services; participates in regional planning efforts; and plans for future growth, open space and quality of life issues.

Our office is waiting to assist you in all aspects of land use, including permits for construction, zoning and wetlands, and the enforcement of local ordinances and State laws. We also provide GIS mapping services and can assist with census, flood zone, and other community information.
