Public Library
Department Responsibilities
The Killingly Public Library is dedicated to fulfilling the educational and recreational needs of the community by providing free access to information and creative ideas through a variety of materials, services and programs. Traditional library services are offered such as lending collections of books, magazines, music cds, audio books and video products. Digital and streaming resources are available round the clock. There are multiple public access computers for Internet use, Word Processing, Online Learning, and Early Literacy. Instruction on how to use new technologies are among the many resources and services provided. Wireless networking to visitors is available 24-hours a day, free of charge.
Patrons may access the library’s holdings from their home computers, place requests for books, download audio books and eBooks, and access their individual accounts. In addition, The Connecticut State Library’s database “ICONN “ offers twenty-four hour access to several databases available with a valid library card. Newsletters are distributed four times a year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall highlighting programs for all ages. The library is always striving to assist the community.
