Meeting Minutes

June 29th, 2016

 

Call to order

Fred Gillette, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.

 

Roll Call

Members Present:  David Gill, Fred Gillette, Maurice Knorr and Tammy Wakefield

Others Present:  Kevin Ide, Town Council Liaison; Randy Daggett, KB Ambulance, Randy Burchard, Fire Marshall; John Hallbergh and Randy Towne, Citizen

 

Adoption of Minutes

A motion was made by Maurice Knorr to accept the minutes of the May 25th, 2016 meeting.  Motion seconded by David Gill, passed unanimously.

 

Citizen Participation and Correspondence

Randy Towne of Briarwood Falls expressed his concerns about people living/camping on the 5 acres of walking trails near Cat Hollow. There are camp fire remains on the property. Conservation Committee will not sign on to further development till area is rid of the unsavory characters.

 

5.  Public Safety Updates

a) Resident State Trooper:  TFC Esposito was absent from the meeting.

                               

b) Fire District: Bruce Cooper was absent from the meeting.

 

c) Fire Marshal: Randy Burchard presented his fire investigation stats for the past three months. He spoke with residents of Lake Alexanders about the influx of illegal fireworks during the holiday and is hoping his message will be heeded.

 He also told us four houses were slated to be demolished: Ballouville Road, Maple Street, Commerce Avenue and Potter Street.

 

d) Ambulance:  Randy Daggett reviewed the May ambulance calls with the committee.

8. Council Member Reports

They are hoping to tour the Montville Constabulary in the near future.

A motion was made by Tammy Wakefield to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 pm.  It was seconded by Maurice Knorr and passed unanimously.
